Pierre Monteagudo is the official biographer of Venezuelan astrophysicist Héctor R. Rojas. Having said this, I want to thank first of all the facility that Pierre Monteagudo has given me to be able to transcribe from his page all the information and documentation that is exposed below.
Before continuing with this exciting story I want you to allow me a little reflection accompanied by questions.
This news appeared in a newspaper on Monday, July 22, 1957 and it reads like this: They’re seeing flying sauce again, this time, over central Africa. They are discs, having flaming tails, and go like sixty.
Copper miners in six camps in this region claim they have seen ´em.
Some suspect nosy visitors from outer space are looking in on uranium refining operations, begun in Rhodesia only recently.
It may seem like one more piece of news that in those years the written press echoed the observation of unidentified flying objects, but why did the North American Intelligence Central classified it as top secret, and I am not referring to the note itself but to the subsequent investigation that was carried out in the field by specialized agents of the CIA. What could be the interest of these unidentified objects in a uranium extraction mine?
If they are really of extraterrestrial origin, it is difficult to know what are the intentions of these observations to our mines, to our Military Bases and in conclusion to our resources as a human species.
But it is understandable that states and governments keep their investigations secret. And it is not because the territorial space of each country is violated, there is a secrecy and interests that the average citizen at street level escapes. Especially when these secret services act in such a childish way that it is absurd that they have the word “Intelligence” written on their logos.
Leaving aside the CIA, the same or less can be found in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Is the secrecy in some of your projects understandable? It seems so, always alluding to safeguarding the success of missions or spying on technology from third countries. To what extent is NASA willing to safeguard its hidden interests? The cooperation of CIA and NASA is quite frequent when it comes to silencing uncomfortable people for their purposes, not only technology companies that are exterminated after their cooperation, but also any worker, whatever rank they may be, scientists and even astronauts.
There are stories worthy of a movie that resist being told, remaining hidden until the right person and the right moment arrive. The documents are there and speak for themselves, sometimes with eloquent silence in the form of tachons, mutilated documents, protected information … but we will also see declassified papers from different sources that cite the same protagonist.
Héctor R. Rojas was born in Maracaibo, capital of the Zulia State, in Venezuela, on June 10, 1928. As a child, he moved to Puerto Cabello, where he remained for a time, after which the family residence was definitively fixed in the city of Maracay, capital of the Aragua State. The young Héctor graduated from the First Class of High School Graduates of the Agustín Codazzi High School (5th year, section B)
In September 1950 he traveled to France and began higher studies . He graduated from the Sorbonne in Paris, on June 7, 1956, with the highest distinction awarded in that country, mention très honorable (summa cum laude) and later obtained a doctorate in astrophysics. He carries out important research at the Paris-Meudon Observatory (France), the Carnegie Institution of Washington DC, and the Monterrey Institute of Technology, in the Statefrom Nuevo León (Mexico), in association with the Pan American College, in Edinburg (Texas). He then joined the Apollo Lunar Program as a scientist of the National Aeronautics Space Administration, better known as NASA. He is considered an author by the American Space Agency, deserving of the publication of all his scientific reports, on characteristics of the Moon, which were edited (1966–1967), by the Editorial of the NASA Manned Space Flight Center, in Houston (Texas), in English Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC), until 1973, (since then called Johnson Space Center). I have spent thousands of hours researching and preparing this book. I consider it proven that the Venezuelan astrophysicist Héctor R. Rojas was a victim of the powers that rule in the shadows. His valuable contributions to the US space program were erased from history with the complicity of senior public officials. This work is the result of the analysis of documents and testimonies, together with statements from witnesses and independent sources, data that shed light on the life of a good man, whose surname appears in line with those of Ford and Kissinger in recently declassified official documents.
The possibility that a world-class scientist, belonging to NASA’s Apollo Lunar Program, and a close collaborator of the United States Government, has received a request to analyze technology obtained from the Cosmos, as is evident in this work by investigation, it is as real as it is disturbing. That he then he has been forced to remain silent under threats of all kinds, is a consequence of the activity of some sinister individuals who remain hidden, committing all kinds of atrocities, under the protection of the established power. And I wonder: What is the approximate dimension of the concealment? I think knowing all the details will be impossible and could be scary. For now, let us shed some light on the Rojas case, as far as the censorship imposed by the government entities involved allows us to do so.

The story came from afar, but for me it began on Thursday, July 5, 2018. That unforgettable day we recorded an episode of Ecos de lo Remoto from a very special place. We did a radio program in one of the three points, around the world, that served as a link between our planet and the Moon, when those brave men embarked on an adventure that led human beings to cross established borders. I am referring to the Lunar Museum of Fresnedillas de la Oliva (Madrid), a key point in the past, from where the crew of the Apollo 11 mission were warned that they had thirty seconds to land on July 20, 1969. Where today we find this full museum of authentic pieces, as well as reproductions belonging to different space missions, at that time a large antenna was installed to contact the astronauts and who could carry out their epic in a good port. The other two were located in California and Australia, in such a way that spacemen never lost their umbilical cord to the blue planet.
He had been wanting to interview Pierre Monteagudo for a long time, but it was winks of fate that day and in that privileged environment, surrounded by essential devices for communication beyond Earth. In addition to talking about the curiosities and anecdotes of the arrival of man to our natural satellite, I wanted the program to also serve to break a spear in favor of all the anonymous heroes, people who are barely remembered but contributions were vital so that Neil Armstrong could pronounce the famous words “this is a small step for man, but a great leap for humanity”, burned into the collective imagination.
And the author of this book traveled there, punctually, wearing a burgundy shirt and his characteristic serene smile. He had some data that I could select about Héctor R. Rojas, the one who was going to be the protagonist of the program. What was told that morning left me as surprised as it was excited, wanting to know much more about that Venezuelan scientist. But first, as if we were children again, we marveled at gazing at astronaut suits, old newspaper clippings, food being taken into space, and even a flask of Russian “space” vodka. Finally, together with my radio partner Israel Gordon, we sat at the table before the microphones of Onda Madrid to talk about silenced stories, about heroes that today would no longer be anonymous.
Behind us a lot of consoles and original cables used by those men who communicated with “Apolo”, and ahead of us almost an hour of talk about this character that we would discover with great amazement, while Monteagudo was narrating his life in a crescendo in the one whose eyes were brighter and brighter at times. The calculations carried out by Héctor R. Rojas played an essential role in placing the Águila module on the Moon (as that was the code used for the ship used), favoring the moon landing in the best possible place. Probably without him — as without Fresnedillas de la Oliva — this journey could have had a bitter end, and he was hardly recognized; quite the contrary. In his professional career, among those who should have praised him, there have only been political disagreements, failed diplomacy, military interests and… pressures that go beyond words? Purposely erased memories? A scientific eminence who perhaps got into swampy terrain, may have even traveled to space, but also — in earthly — the example of a self-made man, the book’s protagonist arouses interest wherever he passes through his herald, just as it happened that morning in July 2018 before those there present, and later in the form of thousands of listeners around the world who knew for the first time the existence of a Red File.
For a book to fulfill its sacred function of communication, of opening minds and of inspiring, there must first be something interesting to tell. In this case it is the exciting life of Rojas and his connection with the Cosmos, an issue that could link him (and in what way) with the UFO phenomenon. This is the message. But you also need a person involved in the cause, such as Pierre Monteagudo; a knight errant who has dedicated hundreds of hours and thousands of kilometers to vindicate the figure of the Venezuelan astrophysicist in gatherings, radio programs, conferences, presentations … he could meet him, but not at the best moment, the author was just a boy. Or maybe it was the perfect moment because I believe that in that fertile childhood a seed was sown that today flourishes in this great book. This is the issuer. PM.- Thanks Josép, a pleasure to be in your program
JG.- The accent reveals your Venezuelan origin and perhaps that is why you have fixed your attention on that Rojas, a scientist to whom you have wanted to pay tribute in a few books, because little by little you continue to scratch information about this scientist who has been hidden from the archives of NASA, Venezuela and the international scientific community. Can we say that there is a real conspiracy around Professor Hector Rojas?
PM.- Without a doubt, if I can ratify something after eight years of investigating and regarding the Rojas Case, it is that it was the subject of a great government plot that involved several Venezuelan governments and also several US governments. A plot to silence him, to erase him from history, to erase his scientific exploits, his decisive role in the arrival of human beings on the Moon, so that he is forgotten and erased from history, that he was a key character in the Apollo lunar program. , a genius of the space race. Hector Rojas was a person of absolute confidence in NASA. And all that has been due to the action of very dark government entities, all of that has been silenced.
JG.- Pierre, who was Héctor Rojas? How did you meet him?
PM.- At that time, in the middle of the 70s, I went with my father to his house, my father was a close friend and he was very interested in all the topics of the Universe, the Moon and everything that the teacher told him in his talks. Hector Rojas and from that time I remember him with great affection, one day he reprimanded me under a Caujaro tree, a tree six or eight meters high that has a whitish fruit that looks like a grape, because I took those grapes and he He said “don’t eat that”, I put it in my mouth and Professor Héctor Rojas told me “don’t eat that which is glue”, and I instantly felt the unpleasant and bitter taste of the Caujaro fruit, I took it out of the mouth and I threw it to the ground, that singular moment has made me remember him with great affection and admiration and I remember his anecdotes.
JG.- There is a comment that your father made to you as a result of Dr. Rojas giving him some manuscripts. A comment that I think is the beginning of a great adventure. Who knows if not a conspiracy … What did your dad give you?.
PM.- Of course, because I am aware of it from the beginning, it is difficult for me to transmit it, I do it naturally, and of course I understand that the general public has some concern about the veracity of what I say, but I cannot tell it otherwise way because that’s how it happened. And when the professor went to that last somewhat fateful trip to the United States, he did not know if he was going to return, because he called my father and gave him his work papers. The astrophysicist own papers, when my father showed me that bunch of onion-skinned papers, full of astrophysics hieroglyphs, I didn’t understand anything, shocked, because my reaction was to tell him, but what does he say here? And then my father already told me, I remember it as if it were today, he told me that they were the experiments that Dr. Rojas had made on his trips to the Moon.
JG.- The experiments that Dr. Rojas had done on the Moon. There were therefore other missions of which we did not have news, non-public information and that perhaps were carried out, I do not know if this is the case but the Russians long before Yuri Gagarin was the first man to orbit the Earth, there were others failed experiments right? Could there have been a continuity? That is a question that I am going to ask you not to answer me yet, because, I want to follow a certain order, that is, you as a child are aware of that, you have an admiration, those documents of In fact they are practically a jewel for you and they are papers … I was going to say that you lose, that your mother destroys.
PM.- Well, I don’t want to go into detail about what happened, but actually I kept them for eight years, those papers came to Spain in the possession of my father, I with him, we came to Spain and we had those papers during many years. On the death of my father in 1981 D. Baldomero, I took my papers that are my scientific treasure, I take them back to Venezuela and one day when I go to look for them to show the papers to someone who will help me understand what they say, it turns out that they are not where I kept them and in the end, asking already in the midst of despair they explained to me that they had thrown it away.
JG.-A legacy that could possibly have contained many keys and also solutions to the enigmas that we face today. But that instead of making our guest throw out his passion, it serves as an incentive and continues to investigate and in fact has managed to gather and claim the name of Héctor Rojas, to restore his memory, not only of NASA, which now appears in the NASA websites and you have been able to get hold of several NASA reports that collected their work, which are fundamental works for the Apollo missions.
PM.- I found the first three scientific studies in the Paris observatory, I got them to give me a copy, they are fundamental, without those scientific studies that I sent to NASA, and I asked them through a legal act under the law of freedom of information, that they published it, that they were registered, that they were published on NASA’s technical and scientific information server, is something that legally by legal imperative they had to do. Nasa was forced to publish them and since February 2019 there are the first three studies and scientific reports on characteristics of the Moon by Héctor Rojas that were key, decisive, essential for the arrival of human beings to the Moon and the Apollo 11 missions and the later missions, so that they could land safely, that was what he was working on during all the 60s, since the professor, the astrophysicist Héctor Rojas, was hired by Nasa.
JG.- So far, the stories between Héctor Rojas and Nasa in the United States worked well. What happens is that the professor was a romantic, he wanted Venezuela to be in the lead, therefore, not to be recognized on a personal level, but that the country itself could in some way be rewarded. There begins the beginning of the end of him, of his tragedy, insofar as he sends a letter to President Gerald Ford initially, but it will be an attaché of Henry Kissinger who attends to his requests. Do we know anything about what was shared at that meeting? Because the documents are quite cryptic.
PM.- Yes, they remain quite censored. The diplomatic communications of the time between the United States Department of State and the Minister of Planning of Cordiplan in Venezuela remain highly censored, what is inferred from the investigation is that Henry Kissinger himself took over the matter of what was discussed with Hector Rojas. Hector Rojas had previously asked the Richard Nixon administration for support to create a World Center for Space Studies for the progress of Humanity. He tried again at the Gerald Ford administration and ran into Henry Kissinger. Henry Kissinger’s solution was to apply a mind control program similar to MK Ultra to erase his memories so that he couldn’t be himself anymore, because he couldn’t comment on anything else about what he had done on the Apollo missions.
JG.- Yes, but in the meantime I understand that there was a trip to the Soviet Union. That is, the Americans who were with schizophrenia, which the Russians also had, to start up, to arrive first, not to plant a flag, because there the Apollo Soyuz agreements would arrive later, but a trip to the USSR was planned. of D. Rojas, I don’t know if it ever produced, but in any case it is logical in that atmosphere of collective schizophrenia that Americans might think “this bastard” is selling us, he is giving secrets to the enemy.
PM.- They could think about it, but nothing could be further from the truth. Professor Héctor Rojas was an upright, scrupulous professional, very reserved with the nature of his work. What happens is that in the years 1971 1972 approximately Rafael Antonio Caldera was president in Venezuela. and he was a close friend of Héctor Rojas, so the president of Venezuela at that time Rafael Antonio Caldera asked him to go on a special mission and to this day secret, to the Soviet Union. And despite Professor Rojas, the astrophysicist who did not want to do it, felt, as happens many times, forced by the politician and effectively made the trip to the Soviet Union. Without knowing the nature of what was discussed on that trip. I repeat secret. What if it is that it may have aroused suspicion and also be the origin of part of what happened later when he was already meeting in Washington with authorities from the State Department.
JG.- Of course, because from then on, Dr. Rojas, who already had a driver, had an official car, had an escort. He begins to feel controlled, he begins to feel that things are not going well. I want to think that it is at that moment when he gives the documentation of his investigations to your father
PM.- No, since much earlier, at the beginning of 1972 when he left NASA. Because he makes a great discovery. While he’s working at the Manned Space Flight Center in Houston. He makes a discovery of universal scope and as a result of that discovery that the military wants to appropriate him, he comes into conflict with the Pentagon and with NASA itself.
He left NASA forever and since the beginning of 1972 he returned to his country, to Venezuela. He feels persecuted by individuals belonging to government organizations who work under the cover of darkness and his dark behaviors, who have been following him for the rest of his life, persecuting and harassing him until he died.
JG.- A death that is a mystery. You in the Rojas file talk about The Agency. What is The Agency
PM.- It is the metaphor of evil. And now I can tell you with absolute confidence that I mean the Central Intelligence Agency.
JG.- To the CIA?
PM.- The Intelligence Center organized two major conspiratorial campaigns against Héctor Rojas, to try to destroy his intellectual reputation, his reputation as a scientist. To hunt him down and harass him, take him down and block the initiative to create the World Center for Space Studies. There were two major disinformation campaigns led by the Central Intelligence Agency, through print media, with newspaper columns, on radio, on television, to try to destroy the professional reputation of Mr. Héctor Rojas

JG.- Did Dr. Rojas travel to the Moon?
PM.- Yes, I am fully convinced.
He was working intensely for the safety of the astronauts, there is irrefutable evidence that Héctor Rojas was a scientific astronaut. Prepared and trained for those trips. Reading his memoirs it is perfectly recognized without any doubt that he had to go into space on NASA missions to take photographs of stellar spectra, to photograph the stars that he needed to use those spectra in the experiments that he was doing in Houston. At the manned space flight center.
He was studying the possibility of a highly corrosive material on the Moon, he was studying it to advise Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin Apollo 11 astronauts and the rest of the astronauts who landed on the moon. He studied the corrosive potential of certain material on the Moon, precisely to be able to advise and avoid the dangers to astronauts. For these reasons and because from the lunar surface I could observe, make astronomical observations of celestial bodies, that is why I am convinced. Because that is how my father transmitted it to me and I have no element to distrust what he told me. He went into space and was on the Moon and yes, it is surprising, there is much more than what we have been told.
JG.- This ultimately suggests that there is a parallel program to the Apollo. Let us remember that those who traveled to the Moon in Apollo 11 were military personnel, and what Dr. Héctor Rojas claimed and wanted was a scientific program, which they are the ones who understand and know. But if that program was carried out, it was done behind the backs of public and world opinion and therefore it is extremely serious.
PM.- While public opinion is entertained in the sterile and absurd debate of whether or not the Moon was reached. What NASA achieves with this is that we do not pay attention to the fact that the Apollo 11 mission was not the first to land on the moon. It was not the first mission of the Americans to land on the moon. Dr. Héctor Rojas previously explained it, and explained it in press statements that came to light, because a friend of his who had received him by letter, personal and private, revealed it through a press conference. Then the information came to light, Dr. Rojas made a recommendation to NASA, that prior to the Apollo 11 mission, another lunar mission be organized in order to land on the surface and verify that the astronauts were not going to face an unexpected danger. By the way, one of the things that he wanted to check and that he checked with Apollo 10 is the consistency of the lunar terrain. It was thought that depending on where the lunar module landed, the Moon could swallow the module, like a kind of moving earth, and gradually swallow the module with its occupants inside. For this reason, Dr. Rojas recommends organizing and carrying out a moon landing mission to check the consistency of the lunar terrain and verify that the spacesuits can withstand cosmic and solar radiation. That was what was done covertly. While we continue to talk about whether or not the Moon was reached, we do not focus on demanding that NASA explain to the international public opinion that its Apollo 10 mission has already landed on the surface of the Moon. They have not explained it because the Richard Nixon administration was not interested in explaining it, since it aspired to be a tremendous arrival of Apollo 11 to the Moon.
I am going to demand that NASA declassify the full report on the Apollo 10 moon landing and it is possible that if it does not do so, it will resort to judicial authorities, because here there is an international public opinion that has the right to know the details of the space race that NASA has denied the world. Among them is this one that I am mentioning about the Apollo 10 moon landing.
JG.- One of the things that we have not yet addressed is the relationship of lunar materials and that incident that ufologists know as the Roswell incident. Because the materials described in that incident would correspond in some way to those documented by Dr. Rojas
PM.- Yes, because in statements to an important printed medium in 1976, the Venezuelan astrophysicist Héctor Rojas clearly describes what other researchers know. What is the material recovered at the Roswell operations site. It is presumed that one or more flying saucers fell or were shot down. Well that material is clearly described and the coincidence is absolute, because it is describing the same thing that other researchers have described as material recovered from Roswell. And not only that, in the last few days the possibility has been suggested to me, and it is very real. It is necessary to deepen and investigate that Dr. Rojas has participated in the “Blue Book” project. It has been suggested to me by the time when Héctor Rojas was in the elite of world knowledge, it is possible, the historical period coincides. It is possible that at that time it was summoned by government entities by the Pentagon to evaluate and assess as part of the multidisciplinary team for the study of technology obtained from the Cosmos, that possibility is very real. I have not been able to observe specific documents on that at the moment. The scientist does not mention anything in his personal memoirs, but it is a very real possibility that I must delve into in order to reach more concrete conclusions.
JG.- From Doctor Héctor Rojas, everything had been erased in Venezuela, as in NASA … everything, why?
PM.- It must be said that the official attached to the NASA administrator, who answered the appeal I made to declassify Rojas’s fourth report, which is still reserved and secret material, precisely the fourth report by Dr. Rojas on characteristics from the Moon, recommends that NASA do a pre-Apollo 11 mission. Just to check the consistency of the lunar terrain. Precisely for that reason it is a reserved matter and they do not take it out to the public opinion. I think that in the enormity of the Universe there are multiple forms of intelligent life, some similar to the human species, based on the chemistry of carbon, and others very different, which could be called exotic life. In common, they have the unquestionable fact that the information held by the Governments of the world about the activity on Earth of Non-Human Biological Entities has been deliberately hidden from the general public.
The strategy of disinformation is the preferred one to keep the world public opinion distracted, while obtaining benefits from the exchange of information with non-human intelligent species. Thanks, in part, to the collaboration between intelligent species — humans and non-humans — the gap between the information on scientific and technological advances handled by the military establishment of the powers and what is reported to the people, is about a hundred years.
The world’s scientific organizations are overwhelmingly made up of honorable and dedicated scientists. However, many of them, like NASA, are financed by the military and politicians who demand results in exchange for financial support. They want to obtain a tactical advantage of any information or advance in science and technology, which occurs, for its application, first of all, in the military field.
This was demonstrated by the private use that the military made of the internet, of which, only decades later, public opinion became aware of its existence. Under threats of harsh sanctions, scientists who come to obtain evidence of extraterrestrial activity are forced to maintain secrecy.
Although the investigations of NASA’s first Venezuelan astrophysicist, Dr. Héctor R. Rojas, were never related to the UFO phenomenon, I must say that the scientist, a maracayero by adoption, was subjected to pressure to seek the military application of his inventions and discoveries and, in short, he received a very drastic treatment for his proposal to democratize the knowledge acquired during his stellar participation in NASA’s Apollo Program, for the arrival of man on the Moon.
The UFO phenomenon, in its different expressions, is today an unquestionable fact that is backed by thousands of credible sightings testimonies. It is useless to continue debating whether or not they exist, they are a reality. From there, I have spent years reflecting on the possible origin of the unidentified and their occupants. My working hypothesis can be summarized as follows:
1.) Most of the objects or aircraft that people commonly see in the sky, in sightings related to the UFO phenomenon, have a technology unknown to world public opinion, but well known and used by the military and other sectors within the governments of the powers.

That afternoon had passed very lively, Dr. Rojas had told us his expectations for the future, and his plans to develop an advanced study program about the functioning of the Universe. For this, it had the sponsorship and collaboration of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, better known by its acronym in English as NASA. This agency coordinates all American manned and robotic space missions and participates in many others in collaboration with Europe, Russia and Japan.
As is usual in major projects, there was concern about obtaining the necessary support to finance a study group in the United States of America. That was the great dream of Héctor R. Rojas, a brilliant Venezuelan astrophysicist with a doctorate from the Sorbonne University in Paris. At that time, he generated a lot of interest with his dissertations on “the nonexistence of time as a physical parameter” or his explanation of the implications of Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. In a more mundane sense, he wrote in the Weekly Actualidad of the time: «In the world a system has been implanted that clouds the perception of what is true and leads us towards a life that only pursues commercial remuneration, pseudo-political skills and a mediocre mentality in the face of the future ». If we analyze it carefully, it can be concluded that these are ideas that are still totally current more than five decades later.
A pleasant tropical night began when Dr. Rojas accompanied us to the patio of his humble abode. We stopped just below a tree whose fruit was small white “grapes” less than a centimeter in size and spherical in shape. I remember it as if it were today, in the midst of my infinite curiosity I reached for one of those “blessed grapes” and brought it to my mouth; the taste was sticky and disgusting, so automatically I took it with my tiny fingers and after observing it briefly in disgust, I disposed of the supposed delicacy by cursing my luck. When he realized what had happened, Dr. Rojas fixed his deep eyes on mine and very kindly told me not to eat that, since it was “glue” (a local term used to indicate that it was glue). It turned out that we were under the “shadow” of the caujaro tree (Cordia alba). This one in particular was a beautiful specimen of about six meters, although there may be up to ten meters high. The ripe fruit of the caujaro turns a transparent white color and its pulp is often used as a homemade glue in making multi-colored paper kites. Fortunately, this fortuitous and original event allowed my photographic memory to be activated to forever remember incredible details of what I shared with that unique character. It is difficult to explain, but that day I felt the call of science and my life changed forever. I turned the study of the most everyday scientific phenomena into a true passion that, in the end, has allowed me to achieve a glimpse of knowledge about the way things work in the world and the Universe.
In the same way that it happens with so many wonderful projects, this one was cut short by the impossibility of obtaining the necessary support to organize the academic expedition. Finally, the astrophysicist, disappointed by the adverse circumstances, decided to travel in person to Washington D.C., and present his project to the Americans in the hope of gaining their support. A proposal made in the middle of the “Cold War” that had dire consequences. Dr. Rojas was present at the conversations, accompanied by a young scientist and friend named Jorge Augusto Crespo, who continues to remain silent even today. For the US State Department, the “host” was Addison E. Richmond Jr., an official commissioned by Secretary of State Kissinger to keep him informed of everything discussed at the meeting.
The documents that I have been able to analyze indicate the most probable attendance of representatives of the White House. There are no known indications of this meeting about the omnipresent figure of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). However, anyone present, except Dr. Rojas, could very well be an asset of “The Agency.” The object of all Americans was to listen to what this man of science had to say, who had always been considered a European in the service of the United States, regardless of the fact that his homeland was Venezuela.
A few days before leaving, the astrophysicist did not look very excited about the possibility of receiving the support of the United States Government, within the framework of a bilateral program of scientific and technological cooperation. With the approach of his trip, he held a private meeting with my father, who would later comment on the importance of what was spoken. My father had a special relationship with Dr. Rojas, he was his closest collaborator, as well as an outstanding student in studies on the Moon and the Universe. Perhaps for this reason, the scientist handed him a bundle of “confidential” documents containing a wealth of information about his own research. The material that I had in view consisted of about twenty pages of thick onion paper in a format very similar to A3 (29.7 x 42 centimeters), on which I had written by hand an endless repertoire of equations, scientific notations and a technical language so complex that its meaning, even today, could not understand in the least. When my father showed me the “file” I was astonished and impressed by that chaotic order of technical and scientific hieroglyphics, so I asked him: what is this? keep them.
I couldn’t get out of my astonishment, so I instinctively asked a new question: but what does it say? My father’s immediate response was: “These are the experiments that Dr. Rojas did on his trips to the Moon.” Just as every reader may be wondering, I have been wondering for over four decades: Is it possible that short, slim astrophysicist traveled to the Moon? If so, and there are indications, why was it not counted? This is what I have discovered about it:
Dr. Héctor R. Rojas, with the method that he himself had invented, determined the most suitable places for landing on the Moon, Apollo 10, Apollo 11 and the rest of the manned lunar missions.
Due to his status as an expert in the topography of the lunar surface, he continued working at NASA to anticipate problems that could arise when exploring different areas of our satellite, in subsequent missions of the Apollo program.
Therefore, Dr. Rojas was in charge of informing the astronauts about the precautions they should take during their moonwalk. More specifically, he recommended Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, two things:
1 — The care they should have when walking on the surface of the Moon due to the possible escape of gases through small craters.
2 — The kind of information they should try to obtain, within the time limits available for the mission.
In February 1969, almost 6 months before the Apollo 11 trip, Dr. Rojas was preparing to appear at the headquarters of NASA’s Manned Space Flight Center in Washington, D.C. (Office of Manned Space Flight, NASA Headquarters, in English), in order to discuss the details of its possible trip to the Moon, in a term of one to two years.
The scientist was working at the US Space Agency until the beginning of 1971. Incredible as it may seem, the numbers add up.
No one knows better than an auditor (one of my professions) how important working papers are in the process of an audit. Similarly, the “papyri” that Rojas had given to my father, were a scientific documentation of the highest relevance about the experiments carried out by the astrophysicist, as part of his work in the NASA Lunar Apollo Program. ). There is no doubt that they were invaluable evidence of his contribution to the project that allowed the human being to land on the Moon.
At sight I had the working papers of one of the most prominent Venezuelan scientists of all time. Regarding the nature of the content of that kind of modern scrolls, I think it was classified information, considered secret, related to the American space program, about experiments carried out by Héctor R. Rojas, about phenomena whose nature was not revealed. In fact, the object of the possible space travel of the astrophysicist was that he could observe different cosmic bodies from the lunar surface.
At the time, I had no idea that fate would lead me, more than forty years later, to find NASA Reports in the charming city of Paris, while the pre-publication investigation of the book you are holding in your hands was in progress. this moment.
The entire professional career of Dr. Rojas in the United States at the service of NASA, has been wrapped in the most absolute secrecy and mystery that the agencies of the United States Government tend about the information of a technological and scientific nature, which are first used for military and years or decades later they become known and used in the civil sphere.
After the death of my father, this scientific material was in my custody. I kept it as if it were a treasure. He often glanced at them with the illusion of someone observing a piece of history of great value. One day, motivated by the interest I had in deciphering the exact meaning of the information contained in those “papyri”, I discussed the subject with a very educated and cultured gentleman who came to the cafeteria every day where I was at that time. he was making a living when he was just over fifteen years old. During a respite from the activity, while pouring him his usual morning coffee, I discussed the documents in question. Seeing that Mauro, an elderly man, was laughing in a mocking tone at my sincere statements, I offered to bring all the material in my possession the next day on the condition that he help me analyze its contents.
That afternoon I came home excited at the possibility of being able to learn the information of that collection of symbols unintelligible to me. It was the long-awaited opportunity to understand the meaning of those top secret documents. When I crossed the threshold of the door, I ran to my closet and looked for where he usually kept the handwritten papers of Dr. Rojas. However, where he kept them, under his clothes, there was nothing. I checked everywhere with no luck. Already desperate before the fruitless search, it occurred to me to ask my mother if she had seen them.
Back then, she had been abducted by a very powerful earthly force. He had been viscerally integrated into the bosom of a strange religious cult of praise to God. As laudable as such activity may be, he came to profess a fanaticism of such magnitude that he saw the action of the devil everywhere and at all hours. One of the most questionable strategies of these groups is to instill fear in their loyal followers to avoid defections. It is quite clear that it is a form of psychological manipulation.
Not finding the documents, I suspected that she might have something to do with the disappearance of such precious loot. And I was not wrong; It turns out that one day, unfortunately for me, I had been going through my things and found my “treasure,” Dr. Rojas’s working papers. After realizing what was happening, my reaction was to head at a fast pace to the other end of the house. I left the rooms behind, I crossed the living room and, going out into the garden, I came face to face with my mother, whom I asked out of the blue: have you seen the documents that I had kept in my closet? The answer that she gave me as if nothing happened, broke my soul, it was as if a burning nail penetrated my gut. Without the slightest hurry she told me that those papers were the devil’s thing and that he had thrown them away. At that moment I was seized with despair, I put my hands to my head, I began to shout cursing my bad luck, at the same time I screamed asking him how it was possible that he had done such a thing. I started running from one place to another trying to find the garbage can, but my mother ended up confessing that she had deposited them the day before in the container on the street. Although I did everything humanly possible, under the circumstances, I have never seen such a valuable legacy again.
Even today my soul cries for this great loss. I was faced with the opportunity of a lifetime for a researcher and scientific popularizer of the mysterious and it disappeared in the most incomprehensible way.
Four decades after these events, when writing these lines for the first time, I have had to stop several times to mourn my misfortune. It is the most relevant episode of my life in my relationship with science and at the same time the most absurd, stupid and crazy of all, since it constituted the irreparable loss of material of incalculable scientific value. He had been the victim of a delay in the “medieval holy inquisition.”
FROM THE ROJAS DOSSIER BOOK — THE COSMOS TECHNOLOGY
The reports contain the calculations for landing on the Moon that guaranteed the safety of the astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission and the success of the first manned lunar landing on Sunday, July 20, 1969.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has published recently inside the Server of its Scientific and Technical Information Program, the first three studies conducted by the Venezuelan astrophysicist Hector R. Rojas, between August 1966 and February 1967, as part of his job in the Apollo Lunar Program. These scientific studies contain the calculations for the landing of the Apollo 11 mission on the surface of the Moon. This year will be the 50th commemoration of this historical milestone, which was the arrival of the human being to the Moon on July 20, 1969.
The biographer of Dr. Hector R. Rojas, astrophysicist for the University of Paris, has been the manager of spreading the news. The Spanish-Venezuelan professor and writer Pierre Monteagudo explained that he had previously received a communication from the technical and scientific management office of NASA, indicating that once the documentation issued by the Johnson Space Center, of Houston, Texas, was obtained, they proceeded they proceeded to publish the three studies written by Dr. Rojas in the Technical Report Server, which are available to the public from Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) contains all the scientific studies created or sponsored by NASA since 1958, but interestingly, the reports prepared by Hector R. Rojas were missing. They have had to spend more than 50 years so that finally, the full text of the three documents is now available in pdf format that can be viewed and downloaded by any interested person.
The first report published on December 1st, 1966, is the mathematical technique created by the astrophysicist Hector R. Rojas and contains a series of spatial coefficients that helped him collect data from the surface of the Moon that he later used to calculate, with mathematical precision, the optimal lunar area for the landing of manned ships. Through the successive transformations of his own method, Dr. Rojas was able to determine the temperature that the astronauts would find in the equatorial region of the Moon, when they disembarked on its surface. The scientist used extrapolation to obtain a temperature distribution, known in NASA as “Contours of Rojas” which is expressed in the second report, published on February 1th, 1967. In this way, he was able to demonstrate that the surface temperature of the satellite was related to the lunar topography, since there were different readings in craters, hillsides and plains. This is how Dr. Rojas prepared a map of the topography and relief of the Moon much more accurately than that obtained only with images. In the third report, published in July 1967, the astrophysicist presented a detailed analysis of the composition of the Moon and the amount of sunlight reflected by the lunar surface, based on observations made from Earth and the analysis of the images taken by the automated space probes of the Surveyor and Lunar Orbiter series, which orbited the Moon, before sending the manned missions. The three NASA studies were originally published by the Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC) in Houston, Texas.
The set of investigations that were carried out allowed Hector R. Rojas to study in detail the areas of the lunar surface, with less roughness, where the Apollo missions finally landed.
