Neighbors saw a UFO
Many are the witnesses who coincide in the same story: a very strong light that rose and fell on the horizon, at the height of Costa de Reyes and Costa Verde.

The journalistic chronicle abounded in details from the first moment. The witnesses made the essential contribution to define the appearance of “something” different in the sky of the Neuquén riverbank: “From the ground it seemed that it continued to illuminate since the rays of light pointed to the sky in different directions”, said Hipólito Manqui, while trying to delineate with his hands the strange movement of the lights given off by the object. Manqui was one of those who, surprised by what he was observing, tried to notify the police. This was not necessary since troops mobilized in a patrol car of the Vista Alegre police unit that also shared the observation, so a few minutes later a notice of “reinforcements required” ran through the force’s communication network. Another witness, a young man who was with other friends, contributed his story to the police who arrived at a farm next to the river, a place that was indicated by several of the residents as the point where the UFO seemed to fall. But the darkness, the limited range of the vehicle lights and other resources that were used when searching the area were not enough to find any clue of the contact of the strange object with the ground.
Fear and perplexity
At the intersection of Malvina Reyes and Jofré streets is the Neighborhood Commission of this town. Erika Lira, 27, breastfeeds her little son. She was one of the people who saw the strange phenomenon.
“We are tired of being laughed at. They called us from different radios and laughed at our testimonies. But those who laugh were not here, witnessing what we witnessed to be absolutely true,” she emphatically indicates.
Along with her, Belén Bascur (17) and Miriam Bascur (23) coincide with her testimony, the existence of a strange celestial phenomenon for the inhabitants of Costa de Reyes and Costa Verde.

Reactions

But one of the key witnesses to the strange appearance is Carlos Manqué. Crossing a path of almost two kilometers from the Vista Alegre Neighborhood Center, we find the house of the main witness.
It is about a young man, known and loved in Costa de Reyes, who is dedicated to repairing bicycles. From his modest home, located by the river and facing the island, he approaches walking slowly: “I don’t want to talk anymore. They laugh at us. Almost fifty residents of Costa de Reyes and Costa Verde, as well as some from the town of Vista Alegre, are certain of having seen a phenomenon strange to the nature of the place. No one can say with certainty that they were visitors from other worlds, but they did have the opportunity to observe a UFO.
It is not the first time that events of this nature have occurred in the province. In this case, the abundance of matching testimonials leaves no room for doubt.
