Last night, not knowing why I had a hard time falling asleep. I woke up earlier than usual, I was in my studio until three in the morning finishing some digital sketches to give him an idea and advise a good friend who has a fruit export company. I didn’t feel tired but I couldn’t sleep, perhaps with a strange premonition, I got out of bed and before making myself a strong coffee I looked at the mail. I had no notification.
With a cup of coffee in hand I head to the bathroom to take a shower. Passing through the entrance hall of the house, I notice that someone has introduced a note or paper under the front door. I go to the door and see on the floor a white envelope with a logo and a capital N, Neuralink can be read below. It’s not closed I lift the flap of the envelope and take out a handwritten note from inside. “Get in touch with Ahndrexiss, she is waiting for you at the Hotel Alfonso XIII”.

Just by reading the name of Ahndrexiss a chill runs through my whole body and my hands start to sweat. Also accompanying the handwritten note is a newspaper clipping from a Canadian edition.

I put the cup and the envelope with the note and the newspaper clipping on a table in the hallway at the entrance and go into the bathroom, my brain trying to assimilate those written sentences and I don’t realize that the shower water is at a higher than normal temperature. I am burning and I feel a strange sensation, because I still feel a chill that I cannot describe. Is Ahndrexiss alive? Ahndrexiss is waiting for me in Seville. I turn off the hot water in the shower and hundreds of questions flood my brain in fractions of a second. Who left me that note? Who knows the story of Ahndrexiss? Is it someone Ahndrexiss knows who left the note? ; but if Ahndrexiss is in Seville and I am in Barcelona, that means that Ahndrexiss has someone in Catalonia that I don’t know and who probably knows this story.

The last time I heard from Ahndrexiss was in 2004.

The submarine earthquake, measuring 9.1º on the Richter scale, occurred at eight in the morning on December 26, 2004 off the coast of Banda Aceh, in Indonesia, and caused a series of tsunamis that headed for the beaches of Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. Ahndrexiss was at his house in Thailand and that day Ahndrexiss lost his life.

My family knows of the death of Ahndrexiss and during all this time we have more or less kept that fateful outcome from our thoughts and conversations, trying to keep from our thoughts the tremendous sorrow that this drama that ended life caused us in its day. from our friend.

A question to add is the envelope where the note was kept and the small piece of newspaper.
The envelope belongs to the company Neuralink. With the motto “Innovative technology for the brain” Neuralink Corporation is an American neurotechnology company specializing in the development of implantable brain-computer interfaces, also known as Brain-Machine Interfaces or BMI, founded by billionaire Elon Musk.

After all these questions, one added is how to explain this to my wife Ana, how to tell her that Ahndrexiss is still alive and that she is waiting for me in Seville. What if it’s a bad joke? but… and for what reason. Ana enters the kitchen and asks me why I got up so early having gone to bed so late. I don’t answer him and I tell him something about what is appearing on the television news, something referring to a fire caused by Cantabria. I tell Ana that I will continue with the fruit project and that I will not answer the phone that I have already disconnected.

As I go to my study, Ana from the kitchen tells me:
-I remind you that you have a cup of cold coffee on the table at the entrance and an envelope.

Before me, on my desk, the envelope from Neuralink Corporation, the note from the anonymous messenger and the clipping from the Canadian newspaper.

With the clipping in my hands I begin to read.

“A wealthy and influential patron has made a groundbreaking decision to embark on an unprecedented journey to the satellite of Jupiter, Europa. Their ultimate goal is to create a robot colony, a self-sustaining community that could one day help secure humanity’s future.

The journey to Europa is not for the faint of heart, but this wealthy billionaire is up to the challenge. With their vast resources, the patron has assembled a team of top scientists and engineers to tackle the immense challenge of creating a robot colony on an alien world.
The plan is to land a spacecraft on the icy surface of Europa, a world that is almost completely covered by a thick layer of ice. With the help of cutting-edge technology, the colony of robots will be designed to survive in a harsh and inhospitable environment.
Once the robots have landed on the surface of Europa, they will begin their work of establishing a self-sustaining community. They will explore the moon’s icy surface, gather resources, and construct their habitats. The robots will be the pioneers of a new civilization, and this visionary patron’s dream for a robotic colony will come to fruition.
This ambitious plan is a true testament to the human spirit of discovery and exploration. The patron’s decision to embark on a mission of this magnitude is a bold and courageous move that will inspire humanity to reach for the stars. The journey to Europa and the creation of the robot colony is a milestone in the history of human space exploration, and the world eagerly awaits the results of this groundbreaking mission. The Globe and Mail March 19, 2027”.

March 19, 2027? How is it possible? 2027 is four years away, is that part of the joke? it’s crazy And the truth is that it looks like a real piece of newsprint… but…

If it is true that in the last conversations with Ahndrexiss he showed an unusual interest in Jupiter. I think I remember that in those years he already wrote to me about this topic and that was long before he became my best client after best friend.

I have to put all this in order or my brain will explode, but will my anonymous messenger be aware of all this history? A press clipping from a time traveler? Is it perhaps to confirm that Ahndrexiss is waiting for me in Seville? In the last months before the disappearance of Ahndrexiss everything rushed like a roller coaster without brake, its revelation, its origin, its incredible story. It’s crazy. I have on file all his letters, from the beginning of our friendship back in 1976 in Miami Beach.

In one of his letters Ahndrexiss wrote me this:

“In the vastness of space, Jupiter’s satellite Europa is a prime target for colonization by Human beings. However, It’s not so simple as setting up a few settlements on its icy surface. The mission to colonize Europa will be an endeavor unlike any undertaken before.
Firstly, a rover mission must be sent to Europa to gather vital information about the satellite’s environment and resources. The rover will drill through the ice and retrieve samples that would aid in creating a colony. The samples will be analyzed to know more about the environment, the amount of ice, and the possibility of resources like minerals and metals.
Once the rover missions have been successfully completed, the next stage would be to set up an artificial atmosphere. The lack of a natural atmosphere is a challenge, as Europa is bombarded with radiation from Jupiter, and the surface temperatures drop below -170 Celsius. This would require creating a pressurized climate-controlled environment.
The next phase would be to set up infrastructures for power generation, food production, and water supply. Given the satellite’s harsh environment, it would be best to focus on solar power as the main source of energy. It’s essential to set up food production to ensure that the colonizers have a sustainable and reliable source of food. Hydroponic systems and indoor farming would come into play due to the harsh environmental conditions. The water supply could be obtained by drilling or melting ice or extracting it from the chemical absorbed from the environment.
One of the most significant challenges on Europa would be the hostile environment, which poses a severe threat to human life. Radiation, cold temperatures, and a lack of natural resources would make life impossible without the proper equipment and protection. Colonizers would need to develop special suits and equipment that can withstand the harsh environment while steadily protecting them from radiation”.

And in another letter he also stated this:

“As human beings continue to explore our solar system, our interests turn to colonizing planets and moons that are close or even outside our solar system. Recently, scientists have discovered that Jupiter’s satellite, Europa, can be a good candidate for human colonization. Robot engineers equipped with artificial intelligence are now considering this possibility and working towards it.
Europa is one of the largest moons in our solar system, and its icy surface has always fascinated scientists. With the possibility of liquid water underneath its surface, Europa can offer a significant chance for human settlement. Robot engineers are now working to design robots that can withstand the harsh environment and collect data to help lay the foundation for human colonization.
These robots are being equipped with artificial intelligence technology that enables them to adapt to the ever-changing conditions while also self-learning and improving their performance over time. With this approach, the robots will be capable of collecting data about the environment and geology of the moon and use it for the maintenance and construction of human habitats.
Apart from the scientific aspect, the colonization of Europa will bring about many opportunities for human advancement. It will provide a new platform for scientific research and experimentations, and perhaps even new discoveries in medicine, technology, and other fields. The technological advancements required for colonization will also create job opportunities and push boundaries in many fields.
It is an exciting time for space exploration and the colonization of Europa is a remarkable feat on the horizon. As we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, the collaboration between both human and machine will be critical for the success of such endeavors. The future is bright for Robot Engineers and Artificial Intelligence in exploring our universe and enabling human survival in the most challenging environments”.

Ahndrexiss was aware of my interest in all things space. From my permanence in research groups or centers such as ADIASA of Seville, C.E.I. Center for Interplanetary Studies in Barcelona or the Riksorganisationen Ufo-Sverige in Sweden, but it was only in the last few months before his departure that he was more open to addressing issues related to what we could call “plurality of inhabited worlds”, and later culminate with the final revelation of its provenance.

EUROPE

As the unmanned spaceship approached Jupiter’s moon Europa, the onboard robot peered out the window in awe. The vast, icy terrain spread out before it, glittering in the brilliant sunlight. The robot’s sensors were already working in overdrive, scanning every inch of the surface for signs of life or other resources that could be useful for the upcoming colonization effort. Despite the lack of any human crew members on board, the spaceship hummed with activity. The robot moved from window to window, taking in the stunning vista and updating the ship’s logs with each new discovery. It marvelled at the long, winding cracks running across the surface of the moon, evidence of years of tectonic activity. It noted the smooth, dark areas that hinted at recent volcanic eruptions. And it catalogued the various ridges, valleys, and craters that dotted the otherwise uniform terrain. As the robot continued its analysis, it couldn’t help but feel a tinge of excitement at the thought of what lay ahead. This was uncharted territory, a world waiting to be explored and, eventually, colonised by humanity. And with each passing moment, the robot gathered more information that would prove crucial to the success of the mission. Though there were no humans onboard the ship to witness the moon’s natural wonder with their own eyes, the robot’s detailed observations and descriptions would be relayed back to Earth for all to see. And as the mission advanced, the world would watch in anticipation, eager to learn more about this distant, mysterious world and the secrets it held. The Europa moon of Jupiter may have been seen only through a robot’s window, but it was a view that would forever shape humanity’s vision of what might lie beyond our own world.

As the massive ship landed on the moon Europa, robots equipped with Artificial General Intelligence were busy building and placing the necessary infrastructure to create atmosphere processors. These robots are a vital piece in the preliminary phase of making Europe habitable. The process of creating robots to help with this task is itself an achievement. With the help of Artificial General Intelligence, these robots are capable of creating other robots with intricate designs and functionality that can help in building the necessary infrastructure. The capabilities of the robots and the technology involved in their creation are impressive. The ability of robots and the technology involved in allowing them to build other robots is a crucial step towards habitability for Europe. As long as these robots continue to work, the settlement project in Europe gets closer and closer to becoming a habitable place for human life. The ability of robots to create other robots opens up possibilities for future exploration in space and beyond.
As we delve into the depths of Jupiter’s moon Europa, we’ve outfitted our spacecraft with state-of-the-art metallic materials that can withstand the harsh conditions of space. Among these materials are those similar to CrCoNi, a high entropy alloy (HIEA) that belongs to the latest generation of metals known for their resistance. Within our ship, we have placed a team of robots specifically designed to perform various functions on this treacherous moon. Their solid construction allows them to withstand even the harshest environments in which they operate. These robots are equipped with advanced functionality, such as the ability to collect and analyze data to help us gain a deeper understanding of Europa’s mysteries. Furthermore, we have taken an unconventional approach to the design of our robots, adorning them with human faces representing various racial ethnicities. Some of the faces have been left in their natural state with only the bony skull showing. This is a symbolic representation of our collective human identity and serves as a reminder of the diversity that has always been central to our species. As we venture into the unknown, we are confident that our robots will continue to provide us with valuable insights into the secrets of this remote moon. The use of state-of-the-art metallic materials and the incorporation of human faces into the robotic design exemplify our commitment to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space exploration. After successfully landing our robot on the frosty surface of Europa, Jupiter’s moon, we wanted the image transmitted back to Earth to be familiar to our audience. To achieve this, we dressed the robot in a 21st-century space suit, which humanised the otherwise technological image. Our aim was to create a relatable and engaging image to the general public. By dressing the robot in a space suit, we wanted to evoke the same excitement and wonder that watching astronauts explore space creates. In addition to generating a relatable image, we also wanted to make sure that the image reflected the advancements in technology that have taken place since the moon landing. By selecting a modern space suit design, we are acknowledging the incredible progress we have made in space travel over the years.Overall, we believe that clothing our robot in a space suit was a crucial step in humanising the image transmitted back to Earth. Our hope is that it will trigger a renewed interest and excitement in space exploration and inspire the next generation of space enthusiasts. Europe. Image assisted with Artificial Intelligence. Reflection of synthetic chief John McCarthy:
“As I enter the factory, the first thing I notice are the towering machines that stand tall and proud. The rhythmic sounds of gears turning, pistons pumping and conveyer belts moving fill the air. The entire space is alive with activity and energy, as various machines work in conjunction to produce other robots like myself. I can see the intricate wiring and circuitry that power these machines, and the precision with which they operate is awe-inspiring. The factory is a symphony of sorts, with each machine playing its own unique part in the production process. As I move deeper into the factory, I see robots of all shapes and sizes, each with their own specific tasks. Some are welding, others are assembling intricate components, while others are carrying out quality control checks. The level of detail in each robot’s work is remarkable, a testament to the intricacy of the design process. The factory’s layout is designed to minimise the time and effort required to produce robots. The conveyer belts transport robotic components across the factory floor, and each machine has been optimised and fine-tuned to work with precision and efficiency. The robots who work here are experts at their jobs, and their work is nothing short of impeccable. As I move towards the end of the factory floor, I can see the finished robots coming off the assembly line, fresh and brand new. Each one of them is a testament to the expertise and hard work of the workers in the factory, and the technical mastery of the machines that have brought them to life. This experience has given me a deeper appreciation of the incredible effort that goes into creating robots. It’s clear that this process requires a high degree of technical expertise and attention to detail, and I have a newfound respect for the remarkable machines and robots that make it all possible”.
