Death before the Cathedral

On July 11, 2006, the body of a naked man appears in front of the cathedral of Jaén (Spain). The crime scene revealed that it was not a death like any other. Minutes earlier, shouts invoking Satan were heard in the square.

Who made those screams? Could it be a ritual crime? A call was received where a person alerted that there was a person lying face down in the Plaza de Santa María, that he was naked and that he had something on his head that looked as if they had put fire on him.

Jaén Cathedral

It would be two in the morning more or less when I was accompanying a friend down this street, through the cathedral, and we began to hear very loud screams, very large voices, and we were surprised. We saw from afar a kind of white silhouette. We were boys and for me it was just a mannequin lying on the floor. The surprise is that we are getting closer little by little and what we are seeing was not a mannequin, but an older man, lying face down, completely naked, with a blow to the head.
At three o’clock this morning they found the body of Francisco de la Higuera like this, face down, naked and with numerous blows.
That summer night in 2006, 112 receives the notice of someone who has found a lifeless body in the vicinity of the cathedral.

The event in the local press

Furthermore, something was powerfully attracting attention; the body was naked and on the head and the torso had excrement and pigeon feathers. Obviously, the appearance of a person in a certain place as emblematic as the cathedral of Jaén in the conditions in which Francisco de la Higuera appeared is neither by chance; there is a manifest intention of placing the corpse in that way and expressing a secret, a message, that only those who understand the cryptic language in which it has been located can understand.

The event in the local press
  • This was the place where we found the body. The man was face down. And of course, it was a very strong scene. We went down a street to the right of the square, which was when we called 112.
091 He goes to the scene and confirms what this couple had communicated.
The first thing, as it is a person who apparently is lifeless, you have to call the health services to certify death. The appropriate photograph is taken, a limiting measure is adopted to examine everything that may be in that perimeter, to be able to find samples, of whether it has been an accident or a homicide. We mark a perimeter; we started the closest thing, to look at the gardens; We find his wallet, his clothes, we find his identity through the wallet, because his ID appears.
The event in the local press

Francisco de la Higuera seemed to have received a strong blow to the left back of the skull and all his belongings were around him. The fact that his watch and other belongings appeared next to his body indicates that the motive for the crime was not economic.
That the body appears naked and covered with feathers gives an aura of mystery to this investigation and allows all kinds of hypotheses of esoteric tinge to be carried out from the beginning. “The Da Vinci Code” had just been published and the first thing we were told is that the man, Francisco de la Higuera, had appeared in the position of the Vitruvian Man. Then the fact that it appeared covered in pigeon droppings fed all kinds of theories.

The Vitruvian Man, study of the proportions of the human body drawing by Leonardo da Vinci

It is that many things were spoken; that it was the spirits, that it had the same position as in “The Da Vinci Code” …
As in “The Da Vinci Code”, with open arms, he was not. He was with his arms drawn up and his legs slightly apart.

In the first scene of “The Da Vinci Code” we find the curator of the Louvre museum assassinated, dead, face up, in blood, inscribed in a circle imitating the Vitruvian Man

In the first scene of “The Da Vinci Code” we find the curator of the Louvre museum assassinated, dead, face up, with blood, inscribed in a circle imitating the Vitruvian Man, and with a series of words. In the crime of Jaén we find the deceased face down, in a certain position, with blood, but evidently displaced from his place, and with remains of pigeon droppings and feathers. There are similarities in terms of nudity and blood content, to the disposition that we find in the crime.
- It was unusual the state that he presented, naked, without hair; It is true that when we saw the position he presented, it occurred to all of us that it could be a ritual. Everything was pulling towards a rite. What’s the point of covering your head with pigeon droppings? And the second thing was the way that person was.
-The body does not lie in a prepared way. In any case, in the rites there are a series of marks, a series of disposition of things; there was none there. -The cathedral of Jaén has a clear symbolism and also has what is called a place of power.

Choosing the feet of the cathedral to assassinate someone and placing him in that position is what he tries to convey a message; what he is trying to do is communicate the intention with which he was murdered or, on the contrary, the motives that could lead us to the murder.
Although different theories that explained the events were considered, the symbology that the scene presented suggested that it could be some kind of ritual with a blood payment.
One of the theories that was launched was that there was a pseudo-secret brotherhood, which had its center of operations in the El Gorrión tavern; but the police didn’t give that much credence.

Casa Taberna el Gorrión one of those charming places where you can spend hours tasting its exquisite wines and its famous cuisine
Casa Taberna el Gorrión one of those charming places where you can spend hours tasting its exquisite wines and its famous cuisine
Recognition of the City Council of Jaén to the Taberna el Gorrión for its excellent quality and service since 1888

The El Gorrión tavern is one of the oldest taverns here and I think that it was already inventive to search, try and others; but here has never heard of Brotherhood of the Sparrow. Regardless of whether we are talking about a secret society, be it Brotherhood of the Sparrow or not, because the Brotherhood of the Sparrow is something that remains very anchored in a past time, the s. XIX, we would be talking about other people; Regardless of this, the characteristics in which the corpse is found, what it has around it, having been displaced from the place of the murder by approximately 1.5 m, leads us to think that it does have enough ritualistic components to reach the conclusion that that whoever did it at least sought to create a sacred magical environment with a payment of blood, which in this case was the one killed.
Beyond the theories that could be inferred from all those esoteric signs, it was necessary to find evidence and find out who had caused Francisco’s death.

-We saw a shadow like that of an individual walking away through the town hall area-.

The first steps that are usually taken in case of murders in the street is to ask for the security cameras of nearby premises. Neighbors were questioned, statements and testimonies were taken, and of course the area was looked at in search of recording cameras in case a third person had left.

Recordings are requested and, with the date of death, are analyzed. Images of this type make us have a clear suspect to be located. And you can see perfectly in a security camera how a person, a male, runs out of the place; but the image is of very poor quality.
In the media, in the reports that I did then, we define that person as “the shadow.”
Francisco de la Higuera spent his last hours in this bar in Jaén. He was a regular customer for over 14 years. The owner, Vicente, has collaborated these days with the investigators, who are trying to clarify the murder of his friend Paco.

Francisco de la Higuera spent his last hours in this bar in Jaén

-A man in his thirties. 1.80. Fairly haired and dark. Check shirt and jeans.

But with that description there are a lot of people. If you could see your face; but it looks from above. The police were here and showed us some photos of some cameras from the town hall; the photo was not good.

This person was searched in the area and testimonies were sought. She was never fully identified. At the scene there was a third person; the issue is the degree of participation. Who was that third person, why was she running away? The police insist on searching for clues, questioning people in the area. But there were only two people who claimed to have heard terrible screams.

Francisco de la Higuera spent his last hours in this bar in Jaén

The mystery was even greater when the police told us that they had collected a testimony from a neighbor who had heard a scream at night, when that happened, which said: “Satan, come here, I am your brother.” -Some neighbors in a flat near the events heard an exclamation, a phrase, referring to Satan … Anyway. The hypothesis that it was all a ritual murder takes on tremendous force.

The crime in Jaén is preceded by the testimony of witnesses who claim to have heard: “Come, Satan, I am your brother.” Obviously this is directly related to satanic rites; it is directly related to the presence of Satan-worshiping groups that in some way would evidently imply the relationship of the subject with what was the cause of his murder. This coupled with the way in which it was found, the predisposition of the body, what surrounded the body itself, because it can lead us to think that indeed, in a way I would say that it is totally demonstrable, it was due to a kind of ritual as well. or of relationship with satanic groups.
For a few days there was no talk in the city of anything else, due to the circumstances in which the macabre discovery took place. -This type of death, this type of murder, is perpetrated by societies, groups, which are highly radicalized, which may have a direct relationship with radical secret societies, but also with organizations, satanic groups, groups that worship Satan, and that They do not value human life and they do value rites, customs, the effectiveness of belonging to that order, even beyond human life itself.

For example, a case in Mulhouse, in the Upper Rhine, in the Alsace area, when a man who worked in a car factory felt within himself a voice that said: “Kill a priest. He liked all these types of rites, he had contacts with satanic groups, and he goes to a church, forces a priest, forces him to undress, places him face down, ties him and, once he is tied, records a five-pointed star in his hand and immediately afterwards stabbed him.
It is a clear example of a satanic ritual taken to the extreme and that ends in the death of the person. We can find other examples of acts similar to the one that took place in the summer of 2006 in front of the cathedral of Jaén that could support this thesis.
There are also cases in which we find that there have been murders, murders also of this type, in time, in temples, in cathedrals, such as the metropolitan cathedral of Santiago de Chile, when a man, Rodrigo Orias, murders in this In the case of a 69-year-old priest, Gazziero, who skipped everything that was the final part of the mass, agreed to where the priest was, stabbed several times and, well, he did it because … He shouted the name of Satan, he also wore in a satanic way too; that is, he was dressed in black, with clear symptoms also of belonging to groups of this type, with a knife in his hand and shouting satanic slogans.

But the police do not believe that the death could have anything to do with a ritual crime. So what had been the real cause of Francisco’s death? The autopsy could shed some light on this question.
-The tasks were distributed and I was sent to the Forensic Anatomical Institute here, in Jaén, where it was being carried out or where the autopsy of the body was going to begin. From that examination, from that analysis, it was deduced that this man had died of severe trauma to the left side of the head. He also had the eighth left rib or fractured or fissured, I don’t remember well, and all this, according to forensics told us, was compatible with a strong blow caused by a plummet of this person on the ground.
-He had a broken incised wound on his left lateral lobe, which was quite bleeding. He also had a contusion in the nasal area and then he had another contusion on the same left side, on the eighth rib.
Why is the idea that behind the death that happens in Jaén in front of the cathedral, that so strange death, with this person who is found with dove droppings, with feathers, has been dragged, has suffered a great blow? in the head, why is the idea that it could correspond to an ancient rite is being shuffled?

The body of Francisco de la Higuera upside down in the Plaza de Santa María

We only have to go to the Middle Ages to see how one of the great characters of that time, the Constable of Castile, is assassinated within the cathedral itself following a rite established for it. What was he about? For a person came from behind with a stick or a mace and hit hard on the head of the one to whom they wanted to do the damage.
Something similar happens with this person found in front of the cathedral of Jaén. There are no signs of defense on this man’s body. The death was accidental. I mean, no one tried to hit him with any blunt object. When someone tries to hit you, he does it repeatedly because you in turn try to defend yourself, escape, flee; in this case there is only one blow, it is very localized and in my opinion it is not compatible with an attack by another person with a blunt object.

There are no traces of resistance or fighting in his body, but to kill someone they are not necessary. You can push it and make it fall and die. Compatible with this wound, there is a large internal hemorrhage and skull fracture that has not been caused externally with any object and the scalp is not affected. If someone tries to hit you, they repeatedly hit you on the head, crushing, so to speak, the scalp. In this case it is simply a fall that affects you in a very specific area, in this case in the left temporal area.
-A satanic rite is surrounded by all a paraphernalia. Normally what tells us that one of these rites has been performed on a certain body is the position, first, of the body; if he is on his side or face down, that is a sign of submission. Being with the presence of blood; blood is vital within a satanic rite.
They are the most powerful blood rituals. And also the symbols; the objects that surround that body that are going to give us a message that is only available to the initiate, who is capable of precisely interpreting the symbols, the objects, that surround the corpse. In every crime there are always puzzling things; in this are the pigeon droppings; in others, a Bible or a packet of cigarettes.

Sometimes these things are key to solving the case; in others they are whims of chance. Let’s imagine that in a small city like Jaén the thesis is demonstrated or pursued that a secret society is committing ritual crimes in a place as public as the cathedral.
Another fact that strongly attracted the attention of this case were the blood marks that were found on the ground next to the corpse. There is another revealing fact; there are blood marks on the ground and this indicates that the body was moved by a third person. There are some blood marks that can be seen to be smeared on the asphalt; they could be of its own displacement or as if someone had dragged it. -It is indeed a creep but of the person himself. It is an agonizing death; it takes a while to die. Death is agonizing, according to forensic doctors, because during the autopsy, after viewing cuts that are made of different organs of the body, in this case the heart, they show fluids that are significant in agonizing death. But if Francisco crawls or crawls, the marks of his bloody hands should remain near the body.

A policeman picks up Francisco de la Higuera’s watch

The marks show that the body has been dragged by the feet and, if this is so, the presence of a third person is indisputable.
“I don’t think there would be a dragging, because if that body had been dragged, it would have some kind of sign of friction, of bruising, on the chest, on the abdomen, and it is not the case. -I was in the gardens and, for For some reason, he tripped and hit himself on the back; I’m not saying they hit him. “
Then he falls alone, hits himself and the most normal thing is that he falls on his back because the blow was behind him and he would remain face up. And the corpse appears face down; that is, someone moved it. That is reinforced by the traces of blood.

The unknowns continue to add to the case of Francisco’s death and the way in which the clothes were found added a twist to this mystery. There are several strange things about clothing, as the way it appears at the crime scene is contradictory.
When we look, we examine the clothes, and one of the conclusions we draw was that someone had taken off the clothes, that it had been before the fall, because if not, it would be stained. There are several things that make us think that the factual account was not as it was thought at first, because Francisco’s clothes did not have blood. It is very contradictory to the fact that someone would have wanted to humiliate him that his clothes appear neatly folded. Otherwise they should have left it lying around. It was a very shocking fact for the researchers. How were the clothes? Around you. And not only the clothes, but also his personal effects.
It was simply lying around, as if the deceased had been shedding his belongings and tossing them around him.

“The clothes, far from what has been said, that it was folded, no, the clothes were scattered around the corpse. What he did have on at first was the shirt, because it was the only garment he had Bloodstain”. Probably by the time he fell he had everything off except his shirt. That caused that when falling and bleeding, the shirt was what was stained and the rest of the clothes were not. The shirt was quite stained with blood.

Image from the police archive of the situation in which the body of Francisco de las Heras was left

The rest of the clothes did not have a single drop. It is curious that the pants have the belt tied; It has not been unbuttoned to take it off as would be logical. It gives the feeling that it has been ripped off. One of the trouser legs appears turned upside down, giving the feeling of a certain rush to get rid of the garment.

They found the belt buckled; it is clear that the pants were removed by him. They were not removed by someone else. It cannot be stated whether it was he who undressed or a third person did it. It may be that he took off some of his clothes and his abuser took the rest off him.

The national police force recognizes that he had intervened between 11:30 and 12 at night because they had called him for noise, annoyances, that the neighbors had suffered from this person; They said: “But if we have intervened, it does nothing.” He was intoxicated and at that time he was not wearing the shirt. It can be understood that in a situation of hyperthermia, an excessive rise in body heat, a subject removes all clothing, but including socks and underwear on the street? It’s a bit strange. He had a problem with alcohol; he was taking medication. They all told us the same thing; he was quite a peaceful man; the only hobby he had when he got drunk was taking off his clothes. That same night one of the witnesses tells us that she was carrying the shoes in her hand.

Image from the police archive of the situation in which the body of Francisco de las Heras was left

“I have never seen Paco undress. More than a client he was already a friend. -The last time I saw him was at one in the morning , and that happened around three. He was quite drunk”

With regard to the fact that he was naked, there is a wedding couple who was walking down the street that day and who saw Paco that night already in an advanced state of intoxication, and they say that he was already naked from the waist up.

So when he appeared naked… He was not to be naked. He couldn’t untie his shoelaces. His shirt is missing three buttons, indicating that she could have been forcibly ripped off by a third party. There were three broken buttons on the shirt, so perhaps the man, trying to remove all his clothes, tried to remove his shirt as well.

Due to his drunken state, perhaps he did not have enough motor coordination to undo the buttons and he pulled them causing them to rip.

Francisco’s family did not believe that his death was accidental. Mainly because of the situation in which his body had been found. Nor did they know of any reason to justify his murder. One of these things affects the person a lot.

“They are devastated; his two sisters and his cousins have said their last goodbye. They still do not believe that Francisco is dead and even less how they have found him.”

“A sister-in-law of mine notified me; she called me and told me that this had happened, but that she had no further knowledge.”

The first thing that is done in these cases is to see if there is something in your environment that justifies this outcome.

“Paco was a good young man, single, he lived alone, from a good family. And then half of Jaén was his friend. known. Hence the nickname of Paco Bodega. He was always funny, he was always joking. He was mentally horny. “Enemies Paco? I think none. Paco had many friends.” He was a man who didn’t mess with anyone, no he was very talkative, he had no friends, he got drunk and fell frequently”.

In fact, one of the people we interviewed told us that relatively recently, a week or two ago, she had to take him to the hospital because he had fallen. -Normally he didn’t fall. He drank his glass, he was very happy, this and that; but not another thing. -He was quite lonely, he did not usually interact with anyone and even with his closest family he had no contact.
The police searched his house, but found nothing that caught his attention or that could give him clues to solve the crime.

“We were able to enter his home to search him. It was relatively tidy and clean. It was obvious that one person lived alone. He had psychological problems, since we found a lot of medication, a lot of psychotropic drugs. -We called the hospital, the Psychiatric ward, to see if he could provide us with the hospitalization data and indeed he had recently been hospitalized for psychiatric problems. “The previous month he had been admitted to a psychiatric center here in Jaén.” He told me: “They have put me in yellow pajamas”, and He showed me the papers as if he had been admitted. Because he had said in I don’t know where that he was going to kill his wife, who is single”.

The fact that Francisco de la Higuera was in a drunken state evidently facilitated the work that his murderers had to do, or his murderer had to do. Together with the history he had of alcoholism and even the history of having been admitted to a health center or even who knows if that same state of intoxication is caused by these satanic groups or the person who murders him precisely to facilitate the murder.

Therefore, obviously, it is a circumstance that is closely related and that facilitated the death of this man. The hypothesis of the satanic ritual was still a possibility for many who did not quite believe the explanation of the police. The historical tradition of sects in Jaén led us to consider this alternative. Nobody in the city believed the official version of the police, because the truth is that it was very strange, that he appeared naked, covered in excrement … Historically Jaén has been a province in which a huge number of secret societies have emerged.

Police investigation and on the ground the situation in which the body of Francisco de las Heras was left

In 1936, the archivist of the cathedral, Joaquín Morales, appears dead from a shot to the head and it is said that it was because he found a list with the members of different secret societies, seekers of the Cava, which contained, among others, the authorities religious who belonged to those same secret organizations and who had somehow been performing cults, secret rites, in the cathedral of Jaén since ancient times. Behind this, what can there be? There are those who think that there would be the search for the Table of Solomon; of this fantastic object of power. In fact, the closest it has been to finding a clue that leads to validating this hypothesis was in the s. XIX, when in the small town of Arjona, which is about 40 km from the capital, Jaén, a secret group known as the Twelve Apostles was formed, which is led by a rather bizarre character, the Baron de Velasco, who They meet in a crypt that is just below the church of San Juan, de Arjona.

An SS officer, Otto van Kessner, in the Mauthausen camp, hears a Sephardic Jew talking about something that interests him very much, which is the location of Solomon’s Table in Spain…

Andalusia was a stronghold during World War II for Nazi spies; In fact, there was a network in all Spain called Sofindus, which covered up all these spies and all these organizations also attached, and evidently Jaén, the capital of the holy kingdom, for the relics that it has, for example, the Holy Face of Jaén, as it was a coveted piece; likewise, for example, the Table of Solomon. All this means that over time, those Nazi organizations disappeared, that reminiscence of seekers has remained, the seekers of these treasures, especially of the Table of Solomon, and that at a given moment the Cathedral of Jaén is one of those places where these groups spend a large part of their time also in illicit activities and in secret activities.

The seekers of these treasures, especially the Mesa de Salomón, and that at one point the cathedral of Jaén is one of those places where these groups also invest much of their time in illicit activities and secret activities.

The chronicles say, although we do not know if we are in the framework of reality or legend, that an SS officer, Otto van Kessner, in the Mauthausen camp, hears a Sephardic Jew talk about something that interests him a lot, that It is the location of the Table of Solomon in Spain, in Toledo. From that moment on, the visit was orchestrated neither more nor less than the leader of the black order, the SS, Heinrich Himmler; surely the second most important character in the German Reich. And he comes to Spain and not only visits Toledo, but on his return, he stops at the National Archaeological Museum. There are quite striking images of it. Well there, later, the one who was the head of the German secret services, Wilhelm Canaris, meets with the heads of the Spanish military intelligence services. He is very interested specifically in the room where there are objects related to Egypt. In fact, he asks for some documents, which would take us to the second half of the s. XIX, when a frigate named Arapiles comes from Egypt bringing something that these German secret services are very interested in.

Police investigation and on the ground the situation in which the body of Francisco de las Heras was left

From that moment, what is known as Operation Trumpets of Jericho was born, which is neither more nor less than the search for the Ark of the Covenant in Egypt, country of the pharaohs. What does the Mesa have to do with this story? The Nazis might be fanatics and murderers, but they weren’t stupid; they knew perfectly well the traditions of the past. That is why they knew that in order to activate the power of the Ark of the Covenant it was essential to decode the content of Solomon’s Table. If the Table of Solomon was in Toledo, it had to be found to be able to say the name of the power that would activate the power of the Ark. At present it seems that these types of societies will continue to exist, but what is the type of people who belong to them? We can be talking about people who belong to an upper middle class, within them we can also find certain groups, such as those who belong to medical groups, to Army groups; that is to say, they belong to a higher stratum and with a much more powerful purchasing power, and that they organize their meetings in a secret way.

However, there are exceptions and in recent times we can also find that satanic groups occur at lower levels of our society and that they can even become the most daring or use those same groups to be that work that are the rites of blood. It seemed clear that the symbolism of the crime pointed to the fact that some kind of ritual had been carried out with Francisco de la Higuera. But the origin of the feathers and pigeon droppings remained unknown.

In order to activate the power of the Ark of the Covenant, it was essential to decode the content of Solomon’s Table.

If the body had not appeared with excrement or pigeon feathers, the case would have been irrelevant. That is why we must clarify this aspect. This man was found with a plastic bag on top, which in turn contained a lot of palomina. We analyzed the bag for fingerprints and found none. — It was also necessary to determine the origin of these excrements. At first we said: “Let’s see if he took them.” His address was searched; he had plants, the plants had his compost, but they were not pigeon droppings. -Investigations were carried out and in the end the owner of a business that was in front of where the events took place was contacted. This man told us that they had cleaned the roofs and the interior patio of that store, having removed all this pigeon, putting it in a bag and depositing it at the door of the store.

“I am the owner of this lifelong textile business in Jaén. Formerly we were next to the cathedral. We found out the next day that this man had died, in the Plaza de Santa María; there was a commotion; appeared with a bag of palomino on top … And soon after, two days or so, the photograph of the dead man appeared in the square, with the bag of palomino on top, thrown away “.

Police cordon at the place of the appearance of the corpse

The person who had thrown that bag in the trash was a household employee. “Well, this is the business where I worked and which is located very close to the Plaza de Santa María, next to the cathedral, where the body was found covered with excrement and pigeon feathers. That day, as usual, I had to go up to clean the patios because as the pigeons nested there, excrement and feathers accumulated. So that night, as I usually do, I deposited the garbage bag next to the door of the establishment, waiting for the garbage collection service to take it away Through the press we found out about the event; we immediately deduced that that bag that had been found next to the body of this man was the same one that hours before I had deposited next to the door of the shop. I was afraid that since I had been handling the bag, my fingerprints would appear and without eating or drinking it I would get in trouble and it would cause me discomfort. So I told my boss about it and said: “Look, you should i go to the police station to clarify this mystery”.

“I went to the police station and went to say that I knew where the palomino came from, that it was from our house, that it had no greater mystery. neighbors and with a lot of people to see where it could come from. “ This news thwarted the hypothesis of ritual crime. It is not that the subject who threw those feathers had expressly brought them, but that he took them out of the garbage where he found them. Any ceremony is prepared. The excrement, which is, let’s say, what can be related to ritual, are circumstantial. So if I’m going to organize something in an emblematic place, I think there should be some preparation. -Once you know where the feathers and excrement come from, let’s say that the theory of conspiracy or esotericism, of mystery, loses a lot of steam. What fringe is the one that remains to be explained from that theory? That of the other witness, the other neighbor, who in the silence of the night hears a kind of discussion or voices, the witness speaks of voices, and clearly identifies one of those voices as: “Come and get me, Satan, I am your brother”. Discarding the hypothesis of the rite does not solve the problem, since the main hypothesis remains to be solved: did Francisco die accidentally or by a murder? Opens the hypothesis of a reckless homicide; someone wanted to laugh at the victim and the joke got out of hand. One doubt remains. Who throws the pigeon droppings overhead? Because he couldn’t throw them out, he couldn’t. It is clear that the feathers were placed on Francisco once he died because if not, they would be scattered. That person who appears on the cameras could be the person who threw the feathers. Was it also the same one that ended his life? It is very significant that when lifting the corpse, when it turns, all the pigeon droppings that he had on his head and parts of the trunk and others fall off; there were many feathers.

He had a broken incised wound on his left lateral lobe, which was quite bleeding. He also had a contusion in the nasal area and then he had another contusion on the same left side, on the eighth rib.

Blood is a viscous liquid; That is to say, the normal thing, if everything had been a continuity in the events, is that these feathers, some, would have been attached to the large amount of blood that this person had; but they did not stay. What does that mean? That the blood was already drying. Therefore there is no direct correlation between injuries and excrement. From a medico-legal perspective, it was established that the death was accidental; so that data such as the fact that he was naked or covered in feathers are still anecdotes that do not matter to the legal field.
For the police there was no other explanation than an accidental death from a fall. Investigators point out that Francisco had drunk a lot that night; he could have suffered an accidental fall as a result of alcohol. He hit one of the flowerbeds in the square, hit his head, and the person or people who accompanied him at that time joked with him thinking that he was only unconscious, that he was not deceased, and they threw a bag on him of excrement. When that person or those people found that Francisco was not breathing, he had died, his reaction was not to stay there or notify the authorities, but to run away.

There were many pieces of a puzzle that the police finally assembled and fit together like an accidental death, which has its logic, but other different hypotheses could also fit, and I am not talking about esotericism; I’m talking about a person or people who were with him who pushed him in a fight … Or anything like that. -A week after finding Paco’s lifeless body, the police have not managed to find the murderer.
Among the hypotheses being considered is that of the accident, but his friend is very clear that Paco did not fall, but was murdered.
“Someone who threw him out to humiliate him or to laugh. He can take off his shirt and his pants can fall off, but to take off his underpants you need more. He lived in his world, but he was very good people.”

There were suspects; the police spoke with several people who used to frequent that environment. There was one that was in the spotlight of the police because it could fit. She even had a search done at her home. This person denied any involvement with the events, she said that she had not been there that night, and investigators were not able to prove anything else. -Those images are shown to all merchants in the area, witnesses, etc. More or less a person is located and a statement is taken in this sense. They even authorize a search at her home. And everything turns out negative. She denies having been at that time; he had been in the plaza, but not at that time, and there is no evidence to link him to the event. -With this person we have always had interventions either due to driving under the influence of alcohol, due to annoyances … And it was very typical for him to go down to the square, get drunk, and when he went back to that neighborhood, as he was leaving logically annoyances always. We try to communicate with the suspect, but he doesn’t want to talk and is aggressive. We tried it a second time. The neighbors inform us that he has left. Nobody wants to talk; they are afraid.

Could this be Francisco’s murderer? Could it have been involuntary manslaughter? He is not a person with whom you can talk or dialogue; therefore, he is not going to cooperate and has always been in trouble. We cannot say that because a person is aggressive or alcoholic he is already guilty of murder. It is not surprising that when you become a suspect in a crime, the social environment stigmatizes you, blames you, even condemns you in the absence of a sentence. Hence, it is not strange that the one who was a suspect in his day does not want to talk about the subject and avoids any question about it. What really happened? Was it an accident or a murder? In any case, in this case there will always be the shadow of doubt.

Who is the subject that appears on the cameras? What was he doing there? This happened more than ten years ago and notice that we are still talking about the same thing; In other words, it is a case that generated and continues to generate a lot of attraction and curiosity. I have been in the Police for many years and I understand that this case is the result of chance and a concatenation of events that made it seem what it was not. The police investigation based everything on a hypothesis; the drunkenness, that was partying, and then he was marrying the testimonies of the witnesses, especially that of the neighbor, who is key, who listens: “Come and get me, Satan, I am your brother”, and the police attribute it to the same drunkenness. — They have tried to give somewhat bizarre explanations that also leave the work of the National Police badly. What happened was an unfortunate accident. Giving him another kind of explanation, giving him another kind of meaning, to all these facts are simply the desire to, as we say here in Jaén, make the most of it. -But the problem is that he was naked and with the garbage bag. If he is dressed and falls and dies, it is something else; but someone laughed at him because they put him naked and threw the garbage on him.

That was joking and pushed him; but that he didn’t undress alone, sure. -The symbol is very important, because obviously if the victim had stumbled and hit his head and died a victim of the blow, then there would be no added elements. But here we find the position of the corpse, which has been displaced from the blood to 1.5 m a little further. The presence of blood, feathers, droppings, position; all of this is trying to tell us something; a hierarchy perhaps within an order, an esoteric value in which it mixes the position of the body with those other elements and the presence of blood, and at the end of the day, within what that esoteric connotation is and implies, which we It derives from circumstances, obviously unrelated to whoever tries to interpret that death, but which implicitly hides the real value of what the death was, of what the murder of the victim was.

The compatibility of both the injuries, cause of death, time it took for this person to die, disposition of the body and others… point to and reinforce the way that this person unfortunately fell, was hit, agonized and died. -For the police it is very easy; he has no family, there is no struggle or fight; case closed.

“I am not a policeman nor do I do autopsies, eh; but what the police say will have to be heeded. I understand that in this case there are still many things pending solution. Perhaps it was closed too quickly, perhaps; but I understand that it was so, Because if we start to think that in a small town like Jaén, suddenly there is a group, a secret society, that is performing rituals in the heart of the city, practically with impunity because no one has been seen, It has not been possible to catch the perpetrator or perpetrators, if we are talking about several people; if this extends to such a small city, secret society, crimes, ritual murders; let’s imagine the tremendous commotion that it could cause. Therefore I understand that the easiest thing was to close it as it was closed”.

The case was quickly closed because the Police found no evidence of murder, but there are many people who knew him well who still today think that the events did not take place that way. What is clear is that, after fifteen years, the unknowns continue to hover over the death of Francisco de la Higuera.
